What are people saying?

We’ve had fantastic feedback from the first venues to host Unlocking the Cage. The AR experience is currently touring Devon libraries, having launched at Exeter Library back in March.

Since then library visitors have been enjoying using our AR book to discover forgotten women writers from the library special collections.

One visitor described our augmented reality book as a “simple, really effective device of demonstrating the [women’s] work. An interactive book – a brilliant idea.”

Many kept it short and sweet: “Excellent”, “Enlightening, inspiring, unexpected”, “Informative, moving, inspiring”, “Brilliant and sympathetically done.”

Others commented on the ease of using the experience: “Great that I didn’t have to book, and how accessible it was too”; “It was amazing. It was a really different way to look at history. I’m going to tell my mum to come and check it out.”

We were so pleased to hear that one user joined the library on the day they used Unlocking the Cage: “wonderful experience! Beautifully curated and perfectly placed audio to add to the ambience.”

Unlocking the Cage has successfully proven that simple, immersive content can be a reply powerful way to engage visitors with overlooked or forgotten stories. It’s also been clear that people want more opportunities to enjoy AR experiences that showcase these types of story: “I love these sorts of experiences. I’d love more to celebrate women.”
